YOUTH LEADERSHIP

We activate youth to transform personally and serve collectively, convinced they will exponentially impact our communities for good, here and elsewhere

Investing in Young Leaders: Young leaders are stretched and supported, challenged and championed by Monsoon. We actively train youth not only with skills but also with invaluable principles on personal and community development, investing in their future through mentoring and higher education scholarships. We have awarded over $36,000 in scholarships since 2018.

Giving Space: Every level of our operations are directed and initiated by young people, including the details of our art workshops in the schools and the overall vision for creative outreach projects through our program, Leadership Lab. We have worked hard at encouraging the agency of our young people, who hold a deep care for their community’s well-being.

Addressing Adultism: While we love the deep sense of rootedness in local history and culture, our surrounding community can also lend itself to a stagnation of thought and lifestyle, marginalizing the views and voices of our local youth. Our intent is to mobilize youth leaders to build up their community and demonstrate the strength and beauty they bring to all.
